This month’s life skill is Pride!
Pride: to be proud of yourself feeling an accomplishment
What are some ways to help develop a healthy sense of pride?
– Kids need to know that their achievements are are recognized and prized. So, when you see them working hard and putting in the effort to complete something, especially a hard task, let them know that you are proud of their hard work. This helps to build up inner pride for being committed and perservering regardless of the outcome. They should be proud of how hard they worked.
– Give them age appropriate responsibilities that they are able to complete. For example, cleaning up their toys, sort or fold the laundry, set or clean up the table, make their bed, or clean their room…This also helps to build a sense of inner pride.
