This month’s life skill is PRIDE – a feeling of satisfaction in an achievement, quality, or possession
Having pride in yourself for acheiving an accomplishment helps to build up your confidence and self-esteem. So what are some ways that you can help teach your child to be proud of themselves?
-Model it. Kids learn from seeing you do things. So, if they see your take pride in your work, they will learn to do the same.
-Recognize it. If you see that they did an amazing job on something, point it out and tell them they they should be proud of themselves for doing such a good job.
-Discuss it. Come up with a couple of different examples of what they could be proud of for doing, and then have them think of some different things that they are proud of.
